Eclectic antique enthusiasts who love the job that allows them to travel round markets throughout Europe on the lookout for valuable, original items.

When did your business open and what led you to start it?

“My first experience of commerce came as a child through my father”, Giuseppe advises, “I began the business itself in the eighties: it was hard to start with, but the love and enthusiasm for this world was always on the increase, so much so that I also involved my wife. Step by step, we have built all this together, also helped by our daughters Denise, Jessica and Karol. We can rightly say that ours is a proper family business”.

Which products do you deal in and where do you find them?

“Our items are mainly stone, marble and cast iron. We have fireplaces, portals, columns, statues and everything that regards outdoor furniture, ranging from gazebos, tables and chairs to benches and fountains. We salvage them from collectors and period houses in France, Britain, Northern Italy and Tuscany. We concentrate on unique products, each with its very own history”.

Who is your typical customer?

“We see people who are renovating a home and looking for a particular piece, young couples building the house of their dreams and also those seeking advice on how to furnish a particularly smart guest room, without forgetting the architects and interior designers searching for inspiration for their clients. We also furnish many restaurants on Lake Como and upmarket business premises”.

Of all the products on display, is there one that personifies you more than any other?

We are fireplace connoisseurs, so much so that we have a collection of mantelpieces for every period, style, size and budget: we can offer stone, marble, wood and cast iron. We have fireplaces from lovely country houses in the Como area complete with records and photos to prove their origins. There is also our bespoke service that can build reproduction period stone fireplaces. In a nutshell”, they conclude, “the important thing for us is that those entering our display area take in the air and fragrance of the past in a refined atmosphere of times gone by”.
